Tuesday's Tip: Treats from home

Today's Tip: Bring Disney goodies from home for the trip down and to surprise the kids with each day of the trip!

Before our trip to Walt Disney World last December, I shared about the goody bags I made for the boys to enjoy on our way to Disney. If you are driving or flying with little kids, it's nice to have things to keep them occupied. A DVD player with Disney movies is great, but I don't want my kids glued to the screen the entire 9 hour drive! So, these goody bags were a fun way to spread a bit of magic before we even entered the WDW Resort!

Another idea is to buy Disney souvenirs before actually arriving to the parks! I've mentioned it before, I'm frugal and don't like to spend money if I don't have to. I hate buying full price items. So, I search stores and web sites, prior to my trip, to find items that I can buy in the parks for a fraction of the price. Disney Store has great sales and often has free shipping. Ebay has all sorts of Disney items: pins, lanyards, costumes, toys, lights, etc. that are exactly like you find in the parks. Party supply stores are also a great place to find items that are great for the trip down! Target, Kmart, WalMart, drug stores and grocery stores also have great Disney treats if you just keep your eyes open!

Here are few treats I found online at the places mentioned above:

Cars Waterbottle @ Party City. Great to take in the parks!

Belle wand @ Party City. Perfect for a princess!

Mickey Mouse sticker book @ Party City. Keeps kids busy in cars!

Disney Pins from Ebay. What a cheap way to get pins to trade with cast members!

Different costumes on Ebay. This will help your child fit right in!

Mickey Silly Bandz @ Party City. Perfect for the whole family!

Cars notebook @ Party City. Draw, write, take notes- in the car or parks!
Princess lip balm @ Party City. Who doesn't like lib balm?!?

Woody glasses @ Walgreens. Perfect for the car, in the parks and when you get home!

Princess crayons @ Party City. Use with the Cars notebook above!

  1. We have a Dollar Tree store near us and it has at least two aisles of just Disney items. I'm like you, I don't want to spend a lot of money if I don't have to. So picking up some of these dollar Disney items to give to the kids on vacation is a great money saver on souvenirs.
