Magical Blogorail: Least Favorite Attraction

Welcome to those of you joining me from Adventures of a Disney Princess and those of you who have just hopped aboard.  I am the 5th stop on our Magical Blogorail.

Our topic this month is our least favorite attraction.  This is actually more difficult than I thought.  I have written a post in the past about my 10 attractions I won't do (or don't care to do again) at WDW, but they are not necessarily my least favorites.  From that list 5 made it due to the nature of the ride: Mad Hatter's Tea Party, Primeval Whirl, Mission: SPACE, Circle Vision 360 Movies and Star Tours all made the list because of the motion aspect.  I get dizzy, nauseous, etc on these attractions, so I avoid them at all cost!  Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt Show are both great attractions, but I've seen them several times and they just don't make me want to see them over and over or hold my interest like some of the other shows (like Beauty and the Beast Stage Show and Festival of the Lion King).

That leaves us with three attractions remaining on my list of 10 attractions I won't do at WDW: Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey, Journey into Imagination, and Stitches Great Escape.  I'll strike Journey into Imagination from  my least favorite list just because my son enjoyed it and I still have hope deep inside that they'll change it back to the original ride of the 80s!  As for Sounds Dangerous and Stitches Great Escape it's a toss up.  At least Stitches Great Escape features a Disney Character!  I don't enjoy that attraction, but it does have a tie to a movie that many Disney fans enjoy.  Bonus points for Stitch.

That leaves one attraction left: Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey.  While I do like Drew Carey and I love Whose Line Is It Anyway?, I still don't enjoy that attraction.  In fact, I can't remember the last time I even "did it."  So, that's it.  My least favorite attraction is Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey.

What's your least favorite?!

Thank you for joining us this month. We will be back May 20th with an all new theme, though feel free to keep checking in with our blogs in between loops to keep up to date with our Disney info, photos and stories.  If you are looking for more Disney magic, you can make your way to the Magical Blogorail website to see all our members and their Disney blogs, as well as all our previous blogorail loops.

Final Stop ~ A Disney Mom’s Thoughts

  1. This topic would have been a tough one for me too! I'm glad mine was just to introduce myself and my blog. LOL

  2. It really is a tough question! Sounds Dangerous could be my least favorite. It does provide shelter from the rain and/or heat though.

I'm with Heidi. Glad all I had to do is introduce myself this week:P LOL

  3. My least favorite attraction is definitely Stitch's Great Escape because I was a big fan of Alien Encounter. It was soooo much better. Besides that, the Speedway. It's boring, poorly themed and I hate that I always ended up getting some kid who thought it was bumper cars.

It's a shame you get motions sicknesses, some of those rides are fun.

  4. Ohh I loved Alien Encounter! So I also do not like Stitch's Great Escape. To be honest I dont even really like stictch. So to replace one of my favorite rides with him was a major bummer for me.

  5. Definitely Captain EO(?) with Michael Jackson in Epcot Future World. It is good for a nap, though.

  6. We've never done Sounds Dangerous, I think we've only ever been at DHS one time when it was open! Can't understand why they haven't repurposed that space yet.

  7. We did Sounds Dangerous in February since we hadn't been near it in a bout 9 years. Waste of time. Even the tv trivia in the queue is really out of date.

  8. I have no idea what that is, so I can't even comment. LOL. I do have to say... isn't Stitch where Alien Encounter was? That ride scared the crap out of me. It has to be better then that right???

  9. Heidi and Deb- you are lucky all you had to do was introduce! :)

Kristen- agree with the speedway. We skip that most trips. while alien encounter wasn't a favorite of mine it was much better than stitch! and Yes Sarah, Stitch took the place of Alien and they tried to make it not as scary for kids...

Kay- agree with Captain EO too. I won't sit through that again.

Crystal- don't waste your time if you're there when it's open! :)

Melissa- it's been so long, i don't even remember the trivia! ha!

  10. Well, I have to admit, I have never done Stitch and I can't even remember the last time we did Sounds Dangerous. As for the Speedway, I think we have ridden it no less than 10 times per trips! Of course, not because it is my favorite, but Joey and Hayley's favorite! I can only imagine next trip how many times we will ride, since now Emily is talking about it too! I think they should retheme the speedway into cars characters! :-)

  11. Beth- great idea on the rethemeing to cars! i love that! Why don't you write to Disney and suggest it!! ;)

  12. Actually, now that I think about it, if they rethemed the speedway to Cars, my times of riding would increase exponentially and we would never be able to leave! LOL!

  13. Everyone kept telling me how Sounds Great would be horrible and since it's closed most of the time, it took quite a while before I finally did it.

It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't quite what I expected either. I thought they would do more about how the sounds were created. Then, not all the exhibits were working afterwards.

Ooh, maybe in the future we should do a topic about which attraction would you like to see or how would you change an existing one!

Personally, I want a playground like they did for Honey, I Shrunk the Kids but using Star Wars. How cool would it be to go inside Yoda's hut?

  14. I like the rational approach you took in making a decision. I've never seen the Drew Carey show, because it was never open when I was nearby. But I am also not a big Drew Carey fan, so I don't know if I would have gone anyway. This was a great topic.

  15. I don't have a least favorite, but I do have a "won't ride ever again". I liked Tower of Terror but I found out that I have osteoporosis and that the up and down action of ToT can cause vertebral compression and and fracture. So I don't do the attraction any more. I am actually a TEENSY bit relieved, because although I liked it, I thought there were two or three too many drops. Five is good, seven is straying into the land of "hmmm, not so fun any more" and after that it's just "ok mommy make it stop!"

Upcoming Adventures: Flowers, Festivals, Walt and Wizards!

  16. I'm surprised to see something so non-disney in a disney park! No wonder you don't like it! :P

  17. I agree! I don't like Sounds Dangerous either. We've only experienced it once, and talk about panic attack. The pitch black dark was more than I could take and I was ready to get the heck outta there!
