Fantasyland Plans at Walt Disney World

from the Disney Parks Blog
I had a follower on Facbeook recently ask me about the status of the Fantasyland Expansion at Walt Disney World.

Here is a link to the Disney Parks Blog from last January with some info about the plans.

Then yesterday on Chip and Co, PixieMichelle posted an update on the progress.  Here is a snippet from her article with the timeline:

  • Early 2012: Half of Storybook circus with Double Dumbo, Great Goofini coaster, Fantasyland Train Station and Casey Jr.
  • Late 2012: Under the Sea~Journey of the Little Mermaid ride, Be Our Guest Restaurant, Beauty and the Beast Village, Belle meet-and-greet, Castle wall
  • Early 2013: Remaining half of Storybook Circus with Pete’s Silly Slideshow
  • Late 2013: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster

It's so exciting to see what is in store for the Magic Kingdom!  I'm hoping to be able to get some pictures in a few weeks of the progress, so check back!

I can't really say what I'm most excited about because it all sounds wonderful.  But, if I had to choose, I would choose the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Roller Coaster!  Here is a youtube simulation video!

What are you most excited about in the new Fantasyland Expansion?

  1. Awesome update!! I am excited to see that it will probably be pretty much done by the time we go to Disney World again, which I'm thinking is going to be fall of 2013 (yes...I'm thinking that far ahead already!)

I didn't realize that the Seven Dwarfs ride was going to be a real roller coaster! Cool!! I'm still sad about them taking away Toontown, but it all sounds pretty exciting!
