Tiana's induction, May 2010 image from my947.com |
Being a mom to 2 boys, I wasn't sure how to get them excited about a "tea party" to celebrate a Disney princess!! I didn't want to have a tea party by myself, so I decided to choose Princess Tiana to help with my celebration. I figured I could use frogs in my tea party to hopefully get my boys to participate! It worked for one. Cman (2 1/2) didn't care if it was for princesses or not. He just wanted "birthday cake!"
So, for our Princess Tiana Tea Party to celebrate Princess Rapunzel's induction, we chose to make chocolate cupcakes with white icing and sprinkles complete with rubber stretchy frogs on top! We used green sprinkles on most of the cupcakes because that's the color of frogs! On the others, we used pink, since Princesses are pink! ;) While we were shopping for our supplies, we saw Disney Princess candles that were shaped like the Fairy Godmother's wand. Those were also included in the cupcake creations. If you look close enough, you'll also see that each cupcake has a small hidden Mickey on the side.
Adding sprinkles, frogs and candles to each cupcake.
The finished product! We made one special cupcake for Princess Rapunzel with yellow icing swirls for her long blonde hair complete with a pink frog and pink candle!
A successful "manly" frog tea party to welcome Rapunzel into the Royal Court, Tiana style!
Check out how the other Disney Princesses are celebrating Rapunzel's induction!
