When we got off the bus at the Magic Kingdom, I saw the train pulling into the station. I knew we had missed the excitement of rope drop. I still tried to hurry to the front to maybe catch a glimpse of the celebration, but I was still too late. Oh well. There's always next time!
On the carrousel and trying his hardest to get that sword out!
On my favorite ride, The Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover.
"Mommy! I see Buzz! We're close!" And I made it!!
Around 10:30 we met up with Melissa and Andrew from Disney on Wheels! This was one of the many highlights of the trip! It was so cool to be able to meet someone I've been friends with online. We all rode Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and the Jungle Cruise together. Our original plan was to then go to the Haunted Mansion to meet Randy from Your Highway in the Sky, but he wasn't working that day. :( We still stuck with our plan and Melissa, Andrew and I went to the Haunted Mansion while KK took C-man to the play area by Splash Mountain.
After our time playing at the Magic Kingdom we all rode the monorail to Epcot. We walked through Future World toward the International Gateway and on to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club. We got to the restaurant and there was about a 30 minute wait at 2:30! We spent some time at the tables outside chatting before we were seated. During our lunch, the afternoon storm came! What great timing. We didn't have to fool with ponchos or getting wet! Lunch, as usual, was delicious at Beaches and Cream, but the highlight was the Kitchen Sink! Once I figure out how to post video, I'll post the presentation of our dessert. It was amazing and I'm so glad I was able to share this with Melissa and Andrew... but I probably won't order one again unless I have at least 8 people to share it with! Next time, I'm going for the No Way Jose.
THE Kitchen Sink! Melissa and I at Beaches and Cream.
Returning to Epcot after lunch, we decided to part ways. Melissa and Andrew headed to meet some characters and C-man, KK and I decided to walk the World Showcase looking for characters. We saw Aladdin and Jasmine, but C-man didn't want to stop. Surprisingly, he liked the masked characters better than the face characters. He was totally entertained by the drummers at the Japan Pavilion though! We watched them for about 10 minutes. We also spent time in Germany watching the train and rode the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros at Mexico. We did see Donald in his Caballero attire outside the pavilion, but he was leaving when we went to get in line. On toward Future World, we saw Duffy the Bear, but he too left because of lightning.
With the weather looking quite ominous at this point, we decided to truck it to The Seas with Nemo and Friends. We did not have time to do this during our December 2010 trip, so C-man had never been on The Seas with Nemo and none of us had ever seen Turtle Talk with Crush. We did the ride, saw the show and then started to look at the aquarium tanks. This was quite disappointing to me. I remember Sea Base Alfa being the COOLEST thing ever when I was younger. I think we saw 10 fish, 1 manatee and 1 dolphin. Sad. C-man wasn't interested at all.
When we left the Seas with Nemo pavilion, it was still raining. We got our ponchos on and decided to head to the Character Spot to meet the Fab 5. We waited about 15 minutes, ate a few snacks and watched cartoons. It was actually fun! We got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald and Goofy. C-man was very excited to meet them all and get autographs and pictures.
We left the characters to finish our list of things to do at Epcot- Living with the Land and Journey into Imagination with Figment. C-man loved both of these attractions in December so I was looking forward to doing it again... nope. We got to the Land Pavilion around 7:30. When we started to go down the stairs, I noticed there was no line for Living with the Land. I went back to a cast member and asked if it was closed and she said yes. Yes? What do you mean? The park is open until 9:00 tonight? She said on some nights (non peak times) they close attractions early that tend to have low attendance and Living with the Land was one. I asked if there were others and she said yes, Journey into Imagination with Figment. Really?! Great. The two attractions I was looking forward to doing closed early. This was not mentioned on my Times Guide...
So we decided to head back to the front of the park and ride Spaceship Earth. This was a good attraction to end with. C-man likes this ride and we had a great video at the end! C-man made all the choices for what our video would be about. He did a great job and when we tried to email it home to us, it didn't work. :(
On to the room for a good nights sleep.
