Killing Time Before a Disney Parade

Last month, before the "Boo to You Parade" during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, we found our place to sit about 40 minutes prior to the start of the parade.  This is fine with a group of adults or older children, but when you are traveling with a toddler, it can be a LONG 40 minutes to wait for the parade to start!  We were trying everything we could to keep Cman occupied during this stretch of time.  We ate a snack, or two, played with our light up toys, talked about all the things going on around us and looked through the pictures on the digital camera.  After all that, we still had about 15-20 minutes to kill! :)  So, we started the hold out photos!  This literally filled the remaining time while we waited for the Headless Horseman to make his ride.

Here are a few, of the many, shots from our time filler photo shoot.  If you have young kids, I highly suggest doing this to help kill time!  Cman would decide what type of face we would make for each shot...
Since he was a dog for the party, Dug to be exact, the first shot was "be a dog."

Next was "act surprised!"

Then it was time for a "tiger growl."

 Get mad!!

 Now, a bear is coming!!

I didn't know how to make a "mean rabbit" face, but apparently Cman did!

Next, let's just be happy mommy!

And finally, make a mean lion face!!

I hope you enjoyed our faces prior to the parade!  What fun memories. :)

What do you do to entertain your kids while waiting for shows and parades to begin?

  1. Seriously - expect me on your next Disney trip.  You guys have too much fun.

  2. So stinkin cute. And I'm with Mary. I'm spending more than just an afternoon with you guys next time, whether you like it or not. haha :)

  3. Love it!  I have to try this during my next parade wait time!
