Last month, at WDW, there were many times I wish I hadn't been in such a hurry. On day we arrived at Animal Kingdom at 9:30am- 30 minutes after the park officially opened. I didn't expect the crowds to be as heavy as they were. We went through bag check and the turnstiles were all at least 30 people deep. I wasn't expecting that.
Then I remembered something I had read in the past and even had passed along to others (even though I had never "done" it myself).
"If the lines at the gate to Animal Kingdom are particularly long, enter through the gift shop at The Rainforest Cafe. There is a back gate outside the gift shop that enters the Oasis."
Again, I wish I had taken a picture of the lines at the main gate and the non existent line at Rainforest! I shared this "tip" with my husband and we left the traditional line and made our way to The Rainforest Cafe. I was scared the gift shop wouldn't be opened at 9:30 in the morning, but it was! We weaved through the gift shop and there were 2 very friendly cast members at the back gate. As we approached the turnstiles, we got big smiles and bigger waves from these two ladies. It was as if they were waiting just for us to enter the park! Nobody else was around and we went right in and began enjoying our day at Animal Kingdom!
So, if the lines at Animal Kingdom are backed up, remember to head towards The Rainforest Cafe for shorter lines!!
