I'm so excited for another edition of Kill, Refurb, Marry with Mouse on the Mind and This Happy Place Blog! This month's topic is World Showcase Counter Service Restaurants. At first, I thought this would be easy-peasy. But when I actually started thinking about it, I had only eaten at 5 counter service restaurants in the World Showcase, so it may not be as easy as I once thought. Right off the bat, I ruled out Lotus Blossom in China and Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. There is only 1 thing on each menu that I like- egg rolls and pitas with hummus. I didn't think it was fair to kill, marry or refurb either when I only really like 1 menu item! So it came down to my other three experiences: Yorkshire County Fish Shop, Liberty Inn and La Cantina.

KillYorkshire County Fish Shop in the United Kingdom pavilion. While this is a great location to watch Illuminations and such a quiet, quaint spot to get away to dine, I can't eat here. I ate fish and chips here once and didn't feel so great, but was OK. The next trip we ate at Rose & Crown (the sister Table Service restaurant) and I had fish and chips again. This time I got sick and was NOT OK. I vowed then to never eat fish and chips from Epcot again. Therefore, I will kill the menu items, but keep the actual building, location and ambiance!
The Liberty Inn in The American Adventure. With America being the central focus of the World Showcase and the "host country", I feel like this restaurant should offer a better selection of foods. This restaurant is no different from all the other "fast food" type counter service restaurants around Walt Disney World- Pecos Bill, Backlot Express, Cosmic Rays, Electric Umbrella, or Restaurantosaurus. Let's make this counter service yummy and unique!
MarryLa Cantina De San Angel in the Mexico Pavilion. This new(er) restaurant was quickly a favorite for me! Two words: churros and guacamole! The food here was good and satisfying for me and the guacamole was delicious. While the food may not be the absolute best in Walt Disney World, the atmosphere and location also plays a big part! I love the outdoor dining and this is a perfect location for Illuminations.
