Walt Disney World at Night

I don't know about you, but when our family wants to watch a nighttime show or parade at Walt Disney World, we line up in PLENTY of time! Sometimes this means over an hour! The most popular nighttime events at the parks are Fantasmic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Illuminations at Epcot and Wishes Nighttime Spectacular at Magic Kingdom. Once families reserve their “spot” someone has to sit on the curb, the bench or the sidewalk to save this coveted spot until show time. However, did you know there are better ways to spend this time at Walt Disney World? Instead of waiting on a curb, make reservations for a special dinner or dessert party where your family can get reserved seating for these shows! That way you can spend that time on attractions!

At Hollywood Studios, you can make reservations for the Fatasmic Meal Package at select restaurants in the park. You can make lunch or dinner reservations at The Hollywood Brown Derby or Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano or a dinner reservation at Hollywood & Vine on days when Fantasmic is scheduled. You can pick up your VIP voucher at the time of your meal reservation. When you present your voucher, you will be directed to reserved seating beginning 30-45 minutes prior to show time. (Other families without the vouchers will wait much longer to get into the amphitheater and may not have the best view.)

At Epcot, you can participate in the Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party. This is a new event for 2014. On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights from 7:45-9:20, you can have preferred seating for Illuminations at the Showcase Plaza. For $49- adults and $29- children, you can sample sweets from around the world and sip on sparkling wines as you wait for Illuminations to begin.

At Magic Kingdom, families can end their day with the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. An hour before Wishes, your family can enjoy a self serving buffet full of delicious desserts and drinks with the purchase of a separate party ticket. Adult tickets are $25.99 and children are $13.99. The best part of this experience is when Wishes starts, you’ll be right where Tinkerbell flies!

You can call (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463) to make dining reservations for the Fantasmic Meal Package, Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party or Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party. Make sure you make your Hollywood Studio’s reservations on a day when Fantasmic is showing!!
