Welcome to those of you joining me from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail.
When thinking about memorable character interactions at Walt Disney World, I immediately think of face characters. Guests can have such good interaction with these characters since they can talk to you and answer questions. While I do love the fur characters (they give better hugs), I enjoy the interactions with face characters better.
Some of my favorite interactions have been with princesses. This is actually surprising since I'm not really a "princess" kind of gal and having three boys doesn't lend itself to a lot of princess interaction! However, when JAG was five, he met Snow White for the first time we had a blast! She chatted with him for quite a while asking him all sorts of questions and referred him as "her prince." After pictures and an autograph, we said goodbye and she asked if she could kiss him. He replied, "yes" and leaned in, lips puckered ready for a lip kiss! She laughed, pulled away and said she would just kiss his cheek! She left big red lip marks on his right cheek. :)
Another great princess moment was when I met Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen. After every sentence Naveen would lean over and "ribbit!" He never missed a beat either! Tiana had amazing southern charm. She never gave me a chance to ask her a question because she continued to ask me questions about cooking and sewing my own clothes. She was impressed that I had made my own tie dye shirt! :)
Since Princesses are my favorite characters to interact with at Walt Disney World, here is a list of where to find your favorite Princess in each park. (MK= Magic Kingdom, E= Epcot, HS= Hollywood Studios, AK= Animal Kingdom)
- Cinderella: MK- Princess Fairytale Hall & Cinderella's Royal Table; E- Norway- Akershus Royal Dining; Grand Floridian- 1900 Park Fare
- Snow White: MK- Town Square next to City Hall & Cinderella's Royal Table; E- Norway- Akershus Royal Dining & Germany
- Aurora: MK- Princess Fairytale Hall & Cinderella's Royal Table; E- France & Norway- Akershus Royal Dining

- Jasmine: MK- Adventureland Veranda & Cinderella's Royal Table; E- Norway- Akershus Royal Dining & Morocco
- Anna & Elsa: MK- Princess Fairytale Hall
- Be ready! Arrive early, if possible, and have your camera ready to go along with anything to be autographed.
- Interact with the character- even if they can't talk! Ask questions about their movie or their nemesis. Think of questions unique to the character- ask Belle what her favorite book is. Ask Snow White to name the 7 dwarfs. Ask Jasmine how Raja is doing. Pose in a silly way with the characters- ask Ariel to do a "fish face" or pretend to surf with Lilo.
- Have things other than a book for characters to sign. And never use a green sharpie pen- it doesn't wash out of the white gloves many characters wear.
- Have the Photopass photographer use your camera as well as his to take a picture.
Which Princess is your favorite? I'd love to hear why in the comments!

I have to agree that the face characters are the most fun to interact with, simply because they can talk! (Of course, Mickey talks now too!) We've certainly had some great character interactions over the years. I enjoyed reading about yours!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heidi! While they are more fun, it's much easier (as an adult) to act childish with the fur characters!
DeleteLove the interaction you get with face characters! They really get into it if you do. We once asked Snow White if she wanted an apple (We actually had one in our hand). Her reaction was priceless. Do you have any tips on what to say to some of the characters you have listed?
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks so much for the list of where to find the characters!
I would definitely make a reference to something in their movie! Let them know you know who they are- so much so that you can ask personalized questions.
DeleteOh my goodness, I remember meeting Prince Naveen, and he did the same thing for us! I find it interesting that not being a Princess kinda gal, you still like to meet with them! Who's your favorite princess to meet?
ReplyDeletehttp;//ashleystrawser.com
Tiana is definitely my favorite- just because of the interaction... and Naveen is my favorite price! :)
DeleteSnow White did the same to my son when he was just 13 months old. It was so cute! Snow White is always such a sweet princess.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the list of character locations! Do you know where/if they appear with their prince?
Love Snow White!
DeleteYou can meet the princesses with their prince in the following locations:
Jasmine and Aladdin- Magic Kingdom Adventureland Verandah and Epcot Morocco
Tiana and Naveen- magic Kingdom, Liberty Square behind the Christmas Shoppe
Aurora and Phillip can be found in Magic Kingdom at Princess Fairytale Hall at times
Cinderella and Prince Charming also in Magic Kingdom at Princess Fairytale Hall at times and 1900 Park Fare
Rapunzel and Flynn Magic Kingdom at Princess Fairytale Hall at times
Snow White and Prince Magic Kingdom at Princess Fairytale Hall at times
Nothing tops the "first kiss" with a princess! My son also wore his Cinderella red lip mark on his cheek proudly; so much so that she spotted him during the afternoon parade and blew him another! Those Disney Princesses receive serious pixie dust training!!
ReplyDeleteThose are great memories! I'm excited about the princess meetings we'll have this fall!! Should be fun! :)
DeleteYour son is so cute! He was totally going to go the kiss!
ReplyDeletehaha! Thanks! He was! I think he really thought he would get a real kiss. bless him.
DeleteI loved meeting Rapunzel last trip. I went on my birthday and of course she is the birthday girl too in the movie, so she was asking all about my favorite birthdays and gifts. She asked if I had lanterns released on my day and told me I certainly needed to plan that next year! I also LOVED Peter Pan! I finally got to meet him when I went in 2012 on my solo trip. He talked to me for a good long while. I have a Tinker Bell watch and he kept trying to get her to come out of the "time piece." He kept shaking my arm! It was cute!
ReplyDeleteSalena, those are great stories!! I love when the characters still stay in character even with adults!
DeleteWhat a great story - I love meeting the princesses and their makeup is always so stunning! ~ Dawn
ReplyDeleteDawn- you are exactly right! Even when the temperature is in the 100s, their makeup doesn't change... I need their tips!
DeleteI love meeting with the princesses as well...I really can't say which one is my fav.. It may be snow white.. but Ariel is also great fun to interact with!.. Which one have you had the best conversation with.. was it Tiana?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Tiana was the best interaction/ conversation! I look forward to meeting her again this fall!
DeleteI love interacting with the Princesses too! I think Snow White is my fav.. but then again Ariel is always great fun to interact with - who have you had the best convo with? - Was it Tiana? ~ Maureen @ Two Moms and A Mouse
ReplyDeleteGreat list of where to meet the Princesses. We don't tend to interact with them much either, but if I had to chose a favorite, it'd be Jasmine! I'm not going to tell you why! lol
ReplyDeletehaha!! You don't need to tell me why! ;) She is a beauty!!
DeleteGreat memories and great tips! I love meeting Tiana. She's so charming and sweet! She flirted with Adam a couple years ago when he was about 6, and he wanted nothing to do with that, lol! My son who was about 16 at the time ate it up ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! I'm sure any 16 year old would LOVE some princess attention!
DeleteWhat a great post, Beth! I'd be just like JAG, trying to get that kiss from Cinderella -- but then they'd call security on me, and it wouldn't be good, so I'd better pass!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your stories!
haha!! Save those kisses for Cindy or Sophie!
DeleteWhat great stories. Love the kiss from Snow White. It must have made her day to see a little boy so keen to get a kiss from a Princess.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I wonder if the characters go back stage and share these same stories with each other?!
