#DestinationSummer WDW Epcot {#Sponsored}

Today for the Kohl's #DestinationSummer Road Trip, we'll be traveling to Epcot at Walt Disney World.  Epcot was the second park to open at the Walt Disney World Resort on October 1, 1982.  Did you know Walt Disney himself planned for Epcot (which stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow) to be an actual city where people would live and work while using the newest technology produced by the very best?  While this city never happened, the Walt Disney Imagineers did create the theme park we know and love today.

If you are heading to Walt Disney World during the summer, these things are on my  Epcot summer "must do" list.
  • Ride Spaceship Earth.  This is the "golf ball" attraction at the entrance of the park.  It's a must do for me!
  • Speed around Test Track, which is the fastest attraction at Walt Disney World.
  • "Fly" on Soarin' to experience California.  While you're there, take a boat ride on Living with the Land.

  • Tour World Showcase and experience the tastes, sights and sounds of eleven countries from around the world: Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, America, Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom, and Canada.
  • End your day with Illuminations: Reflections of Earth with fireworks, lasers, pyrotechnics, and video.

In addition to the fun attractions and pavilions at Epcot, there is a great splash pad area for children.  When you visit, you'll need to bring a change of clothes along with a swimsuit, water shoes and a towel.  If you have time in the day, head over to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon- the two water parks on Walt Disney World property.  Here your entire family can enjoy the Florida sun while floating in the water or zipping down the water slides!
When you head back to your resort, make sure you include time to rest and relax.  All of the resorts on property are themed to perfection.  There are numerous pools to enjoy, arcades and playgrounds to play in, food courts and restaurants for dinner and gift shops to purchase last minute souvenirs!  Or if you're like me, you want to just chill in the room.  Consider bringing a Yankee Candle for your room.  Once you return home and light the candle, the smell will remind you of your Disney vacation!  Since we are staying at the Caribbean Beach resort on our next trip, we purchased the Caribbean Kiss scent!
Check back Sunday as we explore the fun things Disney's Hollywood Studios has for us!
