Lots To Do In Line: Walt Disney World {Review}

Recently, I was sent the book Lots to do in Line Walt Disney World by Meredith Lyn Pierce for review.  Being a mom to three boys and planning for our fall trip, this book is going to be a MUST!  This book provides families, with or without kids, entertainment while waiting in line for favorite attractions.  There are chapters for all four Walt Disney World parks that include games, quizzes and questions for most of the rides and attractions in each park.

There are 4 types of activities offered in the book:

  1. Challenging Questions - As you go through each attraction's queue, you will be given multiple choice questions to answer about things that can be seen while in line. Most of the questions are asked in the order you will encounter them while waiting in line.  If "FP" is noted next to the question, you can even see these while waiting in the FASTPASS queue.
  2. Treasure Hunts - The Treasure Hunts give you a list of specific items to look for while waiting in each queue.
  3. Pop Quizzes - Pop quizzes direct you to look at a specific item (such as a display, a sign or a poster or a mural) before getting in line. While waiting in line you answer as many questions or list as many things about that item as you can remember.
  4. Collections - Collections are great to search for at any time at Walt Disney World- waiting on a meal, waiting for characters or waiting to get in the park.  This book suggests looking for items like weather vanes, Mickey ears, girls dressed as princesses, and lots more!  A full list is found on pages 16-17.  See how many each person in your party can find throughout the day or for a specific amount of time.  Don't forget to keep track of your numbers!
Pierce encourages guests to keep track of the points they earn while answering questions:
  • 1 point for each question answered correctly.
  • 1 point for every item found while treasure hunting.
  • 1 point for each item added to your collections.
  • 5 bonus points for every collection in which you've gathered more than 10 items.
We are looking forward to using this book on our next trip.  While I was reading some sample questions to my husband, he even said this would be fun to use on a "no kids allowed" trip!  This book will help all kids, of any age, entertained while waiting in lines.  I believe it will help cut back on all the complaints and "I'm bored" comments as families wait in lines!  You can read more about her book and the app on her web site: Lots To Do In Line.

Thank you to The Intrepid Traveler for providing this book at no cost in return for a review on my blog.

  1. What a fun book! We have to look into it for our next big trip. You don't need to have electronics to have fun while waiting in line.

  2. I agree with your hubby- we are going to get this book for our next cousins trip- all the boys are now 12 and older, but they would just eat this up. Thanks for the terrific review Beth!!

  3. Lots of great ideas! We enjoy Disney trivia challenges while standing in line. Now that the kids are older it's even more fun.

  4. I love the idea of this book. When does it come out?
