Walt Disney World Freebie Friday: Magic Mirror | A Disney Mom's Thoughts

On our recent trip to Walt Disney World, I had several things on "my list" to see and do.  One of those things was the FREE Magic Mirror at Downtown Disney.  Last year, Home Is Where The Mouse Is posted about the Disney Princess Magic Mirror in the World of Disney Store.  I was totally unaware of this gem!  It's probably because I have 3 sons and have no reason to be looking at princess stuff when we are at Disney!

This trip, I decided to find it.  I ditched my boys for about 10 minutes and went on a search.  I found it in the little girls area of the store, near the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, on the back wall.
There were several little girls waiting for their chance to "try on" the princess dresses.  If there hadn't been little girls in line, I would have totally tried on the Belle dress!

With this "Magic Mirror" girls can stand in front of the mirror and a princess dress will magically appear on their image!  Girls can see which princess dress is their favorite.  I saw 7 different dresses on one little girl: Snow White, Aurora, Tiana, Ariel, Belle, Rapunzel, and Cinderella.  This is the perfect way for a little girl to decide which dress to purchase!
Which Princess dress would you want to try on in the Magic Mirror?

The Jingle Cruise at Walt Disney World | A Disney Mom's Thoughts

I've always liked the Jungle Cruise at Walt Disney World.  It's definitely a "must do" on each trip.  I have no idea how many times I've been on it, but I laugh each time like it's my first time hearing the jokes!  The skippers make this attraction what it is!

This year, we were fortunate enough to be at Walt Disney World on November 7, the day they "opened" the "Jingle Cruise."  Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect.  I just thought there would be a few lights, Christmas ornaments and garland draped on the animatronics to help get it in "the season."  BOY, was I wrong! This attraction got a complete make over for the holidays.

The transformation started with the sign (pictured above) and the queue. There were decorations, packages and Christmas signs throughout the queue area.

November Disney Rut | A Disney Mom's Thoughts

Our family was at Walt Disney World October 31- November 8 of this year. It was Ah-May-Zing!  We stayed 8 nights at Caribbean Beach.  We attended the last MNSSHP of the year on Halloween and the first MVMCP of the year on Nov. 7th.  We experienced the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage and The Pirate's League.  We ate at several new restaurants and saw lots of new things.  We celebrated Big E's first trip too.  I have lots of trip reports and blog ideas swarming around my head!

We've been back for 2 weeks now and I still can't get back to "normal."  I'm still behind at work.  Thanksgiving and Christmas are sneaking up on me. I still haven't blogged about my son's second birthday party from SEPTEMBER. My house is a wreck and none of us feel 100% because of stomach bugs, head colds and ear aches.

All I want to do is go back to Walt Disney World.

Am I the only one this happens to?!

My plan is to get back on track- with life! :)  I need to get into a routine with my job, my housework, and my blog.  Wish me luck!

Thanksgiving at Disney | A Disney Mom's Thoughts

At Walt Disney World, as soon as the Halloween decorations come down, the Christmas ones are ready to take their place. Somewhere between October 31 and December 25 is a great holiday in our country known as Thanksgiving. However, Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that seems to get lost at Walt Disney World!

I have not been to WDW during Thanksgiving week. I have been there two weeks prior and the week following, but never the week or day of Thanksgiving. So, in preparing this post, I had to do a bit of research. What I found is that there are MANY opportunities for families to eat a traditional Thanksgiving meal at the Disney parks and resorts on Thanksgiving day. That's about it. From what I've found on Disney related web sites, there are not any special Thanksgiving parades or parties. What I did find is there will be high school bands from around the USA performing and at the Hollywood Studios, there will be cheerleading and dance teams from around the country performing in the Opening of the Magic Kingdom Park Main Street, USA Parade.

Walt Disney World Freebie Friday: H2O Shampoo | A Disney Mom's Thoughts

One of my favorite "Freebies" at Walt Disney World is the toiletries when we stay on property!  Above are several samples from years past.  I love the fact that Mickey is on each bottle in some form or another.  I also can't bring myself to actually use these trial size toiletries!  I'm not sure why, but I can't.  Instead, they live in a plastic box in my bathroom closet waiting for the next sample size of H2O bath products with Mickey's face to appear.

I really miss the black and red bottles of shampoo from the mid 2000's.  The boxes the soap came in had a quote that I love:
Everybody neat and pretty?  Then on with the show!
~Mickey Mouse Club, 1955

I look forward to seeing what our next trip's toiletries will look like!  I wonder if they will be the same as some from the photo above?!

Little Known Facts About The TTA PeopleMover | A Disney Mom's Thoughts

Welcome to those of you joining me from Frontierland Station and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail.

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover in Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World was formerly known as the WEDWay PeopleMover (1975-1994) and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (1994-2010).  "WEDWay" being a nod to Walter Elias Disney.  This is my favorite attraction at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.  I don't exactly know why, but it is.  It opened on July 1, 1975 and was based on the PeopleMover at Disneyland park.

Favorite Snacks & Treats at Walt Disney World | A Disney Mom's Thoughts

While our family goes to Walt Disney World for the rides, attractions and shows, we also LOVE all the food options the parks have to offer.  We do love the restaurants on property, but I think our family could literally live on all the snacks, treats and desserts alone!

In planning your family’s vacation to Walt Disney World, you always need to plan for meals, especially if you want reservations at a Table Service Restaurant.  (Remember you can make these reservations 180 days prior to your vacation.)  You can read tour books, blogs and search Disney’s web site for counter service suggestions, which don’t require reservations.  But, you also need to plan for snacks and treats while on your trip!!  If you are participating in the Disney Dining Plan, you will get one snack a day and you don’t want to waste these precious credits!

Here are our families top 10 (in no particular order) Snacks at Walt Disney World:
