2016 Disney Resolution | A Disney Mom's Thoughts

This year, we have the same ole resolutions as everyone else: exercise more, lose weight, eat healthier, manage our finances better, etc. etc. etc.  In addition to the same resolutions as everyone else, my youngest boys and I decided to make a Disney Resolution too.
Disney Resolution

In 2016, and well into 2017, we plan to watch {almost} all of the Disney Animated Movies in order!  The plan is to watch one a week.  The list I found on Wikipedia included 106 "cartoons" starting with Snow White and ending with The Good Dinosaur. After reviewing this list, I decided to omit a few movies.  I've chosen to omit "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" because it's not 100% animated.  I was confused as to why this was on the list but Pete's Dragon, Bed Knobs and Broomsticks and other live/ cartoon movies weren't included.  (Those are for another year!)  We are also omitting the movies released by Walt Disney Television Animation (Doug, Recess, and Teacher's Pet) and those produced by Studio Ghibli and Yash Raj Films.  There were several "2nd" movies that didn't make this list too: Cinderella II, etc.

While we own 37 of these movies, we are still missing A LOT! I've been searching our public library, Netflix, and friends collections for the missing movies. I've almost completed the list.  However, I may have to buy a few from Ebay or Amazon, but I'm OK with that! :)

Wish us luck as we try to accomplish our resolution!  If I'm creative enough and have enough time I may even add a special dinner, snack or craft to go with each movie.  If you have suggestions for ideas to accompany any of the animated movies, please share ideas or links in the comments!

  1. I love this! My family has recently started the Disney movie and dinner night. I actually started my first ever blog to help hold me accountable to this project. So, I don't have a lot done yet, but it's growing! And you're welcome to steal any ideas you want from fantasmicadventures.blogspot.com

  2. Amanda, Thanks for reaching out! I love the Beauty and the Beast ideas! We have a long way to go before we get to that movie since we are going in order of release! We just did Song of the South last night! I'll keep checking back for more ideas from you! :)
