We were a bit late on watching movie #8 of our Movie Resolution, which was Make Mine Music. This was the first time we had seen this movie. It's a lot like Fantasia in the fact that it's a collection of animated shorts with lots of music. There were two shorts in the film I had seen: Casey at the Bat and Peter and the Wolf. I remember reading the Peter and the Wolf book as a child and Casey at the Bat is one of my favorites, being a baseball fan!
Honestly, my boys were "bored" with several parts of this movie. They enjoyed "All the Cats Join In", "Casey at the Bat", "Peter and the Wolf", and "The Whale Who Wanted to Sing at the Met." Since none of us had seen the whole movie, I wasn't sure what type of treat or snack to make, so we settled on xylophone cookies! Since the title is "Make Mine Music" we decided to make a musical instrument- even though a xylophone is not anywhere in the movie!
After the movie, I thought we should have had a ballpark meal of corndog nuggets and fries, since that's what we always eat on Main Street when we dine at Casey's Corner!
